I'm a NYPD School Safety Agent In one of many high schools in NYC, I seen your lecture on you tube. I decided to share it pass on information if you want to call it that to some of the students and student athletes in the school that I work, with some of the teachers assistance. Boy let me tell you what a affect it had on these kids, the kids that hung out by the corner store by the school no longer stand their smoking cigars before they come into the building. When they see me in the morning they say Woody I'm making that change and I'm like wow. Just want to say thanks cause it helped make my job alot easier and it made a difference. I have a relationship and when they see me they don't just see a badge and a uniform. My job is much deeper than just showing up to work but to let them see you dont have to be a rapper or a basketball player to be important. Again THANK YOU AND GREAT WORK!

I pray this message find you in the best of health and spirit, and most importantly in a spirit to join in the cause of breaking the vicious cycle of the death and distruction of our youth in the inner cities throughout America. The previous portion of my comment is specifically meant for those who are on the fence of this struggle. I also comment to publically thank Brother Eric Thomas for his willingness to stand in time when so many are simply too ignorant and afraid to stand and say, enough is enough, and then get up and do something. I am one of, if not the first, GED recipient in an initiative by Eric and the Beaking the Cycle movement back in December of 1993. My life has not been the same since meeting Eric and I am forever grateful to the God for our paths crossing. I could type for days of how my meeting him and working with him during a time in my life that reflects many of our youth today, who are dying in the streets of America on a daily. Eric and BTC impacted my life, the lives of my chilfren and the many children I serve and intend to serve in a way that is unquantifiable. So I just want to say thank you E. On a serious note, I am honored that you would take the time to share how much our lives meant to each other and how we were both impacted by our relationship. You and all of those apart of that life-changing educational experience for all of us, shaped who I am today. No matter how much responsibility the Creator bestows on me, nothing will ever compare to my humble beginnings as a "free lance" G.E.D. instructor. Keep giving back and being a role-model, it is the greatest way to say thank you. I am a man close to 40 years of age, and you have restored my faith in believing that we can make a difference. I have shared your video, secret to success and the response has been overwhelming. I have learned that we all can talk to children but not many of us have the ability to make them listen. Your stlye and approach is very direct, while your analogies are through the roof, and it seems that if we can make our children relate through what they know, then so be it. Hey ET, I've been inspired by you for the last couple of days since discovering you. Initially, I was saying to myself 'how can I be as high energy a speaker as ET' then it dawned on me - I can't. You've got your story I've got mine. I would say though that you might want to consider adding to your 2011 list of goals one I have on my 10-year plan>>> become a speaker for the TED (www.ted.com) conference. Some of the smartest and most inspirational speakers in the world speak at this conference - I'd say you fit into both categories. Until we meet in person, keep on keeping us motivated. Hey ET I just want to say that you keep me motivated everyday to strive to reach my goals. I had to let go of one of my dreams to work on another because of an injury that won't let me play baseball the same as I used to. My current dream is to help people and always be a positive role model, and support my family. Currently working 3 jobs to be able to support my family, and your right it is painful, but I strive and do whatever I can everyday to make myself a better person and get that career I always wanted! I don't sleep much at all but that's ok cause I know it's in the lords hands and success is over this wall that's right in front of me. I'm working on climbing that wall and with your speeches I get an inch closer every time! I also want to be a part of the BTC movement, so email me and then I can give you my number so hopefully there's something I can do to help! Currently live in Wisconsin. But I look forward to hearing from you! Thanks so much for doing what you do, don't stop!

Thank You - Thank You- we are losing our children why the mothers are not in the home the way the should be not spending enough time with the children I want to break the cycle why. If you mother have been to jail on the street not leading the example that a mother should the family will not be the way it should be a tight unit why because it all start with the women, wife, the help mate to the husband that is the head if she cannot get a job because of the things she have done the family cannot move forward she cannot help her husband or children so what I want to do help the women to re-enter the work place dressing for success teach them how to get over the wall that is in there way, get there teeth fix so a lot of them can smile ! and move forward teach them how to interview,just because they have a past do not mean the can't have a further it important to me I need to know how to start, were do I start how this is what I want to do Please !
